Facial Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture or Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural and safe treatment that has been utilized for many years to help firm and tighten skin, soften wrinkles, reduce redness, acne, and scarring.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, facial acupuncture nourishes and invigorates Qi and blood and regulates disharmonies in the systems and channels associated with the production and distribution of Qi and blood.

Facial acupuncture affects the dermis of the skin (which lays deep to the epidermis), specifically the reticular layer of the dermis which is made up of an interwoven collagen and elastin fiber network.  This network allows the dermis to stretch and recoil repeatedly with normal movements of the facial muscles.

Hormones, aging and environmental factors reduce the flexibility and thickness of the dermis which leads to the development of wrinkles and loosening skin.

Local facial needling creates micro-tears in the dermal layer of the skin which increases blood flow to the area, increases collagen production and stimulates dermal repairs, firming the skin and softening wrinkles.  The dermis is located only 1-4 mm below the surface of the skin.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is combined with traditional acupuncture techniques to treat skin from the inside out.  Facial treatments are not just for natural beauty, appointments can also include treatment for TMJ, sinus issues, hormone imbalance, headaches, stress and more.

How often?  1 treatment every 3-10 weeks to relax and indulge.

1-2 treatments weekly/biweekly for more noticeable results (10-12 treatments total)
