Meet our Acupuncturists

Dr. Stefan

When Dr. Stefan was 12, he chipped a bone in his arm and had screws inserted to stabilize the fracture. When it came to removing the screws, his family doctor used acupuncture instead of local anesthetic to numb the sensations of the procedure. He realized then and there that acupuncture was the place where science and magic meet. After graduating from Simon Fraser University and traveling the world for several years, Dr. Stefan finally enrolled in Acupuncture School, and after becoming a registered acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner in B.C, he successfully challenged the first ever Doctor of TCM exam in Canada in 2005. Since then Dr. Stefan has worked extensively with professional athletes including NHL players, olympians, and ironman triathletes. He is adept at treating a complete spectrum of physical ailments with a wide variety of needling techniques. Dr. Stefan is a big believer of full body health and systemic integration, and as such loves helping people with anything they feel the desire to change. From injury repair to weight loss, if you have a goal chances are Dr. Stefan can help you achieve it.

Clara

Clara has always been fascinated by the intersection of science and spirituality, and where Eastern and Western modalities converge. She brings that curiosity into her practice, using a combination of TCM organ and channel theory, and orthopedic motor and trigger point based practice. Clara works with the body's natural rhythms and flow of Qi, along with treating the musculoskeletal, fascial and nervous systems, assisting the body in remembering how to heal itself. Clara works with gentle yet effective acupuncture, e stim, bodywork, gua sha massage and cupping. She brings a trauma and neurodivergence informed lens to her practice, has an intuitive sense of touch and is driven by a desire to help others get out of pain and back in alignment. Clara Paradis graduated with honours from Pacific Rim College's Acupuncture program, is certified in the NADA Protocol addiction treatment, and Acusculpting Facial Rejuvenation. In her spare time she loves yoga, art, and exploring this beautiful island. She is grateful to be working with the team at Back to Back on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen speaking Peoples. Hope to see you you soon!
